On this day in 1866, the Senate approved the Civil Rights Bill and sent it to the President Andrew Johnson for approval. The Civil Rights Bill gives all people born in the United States are now citizens,  without regard to race, color, or any other condition.

On this day in 1933, the New York Stock Exchange reopened after it was closed on March 6.

On March 14 1969 Apollo 9 landed back on earth. The spacecraft brought the astronaughts down to a splash in the Atalantic Ocean close by Puerto Rico.

However, the first person to do so was 14 years later!
On May 27, 1927, Charles Lindenberg accelerated down Long Island and into the sky…
